William Gilbert (1544-1603) is credited as one of the
originators of the term "electricity" and also remembered largely for
his book De Magnete (1600). He is regarded by some as the father of electrical
engineering or electricity and magnetism. But, Michael Faraday was also one one
the great contributors in field of electricity.
